Refunds & Returns Policy

Thank you for shopping with The Little Journal Club. We want you to feel confident in your purchase, and we offer a generous return policy for eligible physical products purchased from thelittlejournalclub.com.

This Refunds & Returns Policy explains when returns are accepted, how to request a return, who is responsible for shipping costs, and how refunds are processed.

1. Return Window

You may request a return within 30 days of delivery for eligible products.

Returns requested after 30 days from the date of delivery may not be accepted.

2. Return Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, the product must be:

  • unused;
  • unopened;
  • in its original condition;
  • in its original packaging, where applicable;
  • not damaged, altered, tampered with, or missing any components.

We reserve the right to deny a return or issue a partial refund if the item is returned used, opened, damaged, incomplete, altered, tampered with, or otherwise not in its original condition.

3. How to Start a Return

To request a return, please contact us at kayla@kaylamakes.com within 30 days of delivery.

Please include the following information in your message:

  • your full name;
  • your order number;
  • the item you would like to return;
  • the reason for the return;
  • photos of the item and packaging, if the product arrived damaged or defective.

Please do not send a product back until your return request has been reviewed and approved. Items returned without prior approval may not be eligible for a refund.

4. Return Shipping Costs

Unless the return is due to our error or a defective product, the buyer is responsible for paying return shipping costs.

Return shipping costs are non-refundable. We recommend using a trackable shipping service and keeping your receipt and tracking number until your return has been received and processed.

We are not responsible for returned items that are lost, delayed, damaged, or misdelivered by the shipping carrier.

5. Original Shipping Charges

Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our mistake, a defective product, or where otherwise required by law.

If your order qualified for free shipping and you return the item, we may deduct the original shipping cost from your refund where permitted by law.

6. Refund Processing

Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it to confirm that it meets the return eligibility requirements.

If your return is approved, your refund will be issued to the original payment method used at checkout.

Please allow time for your bank, credit card company, or payment provider to process and post the refund to your account. Processing times may vary depending on your financial institution.

7. Partial Refunds

We may issue a partial refund instead of a full refund if the returned item:

  • shows signs of use;
  • has been opened;
  • is missing packaging, parts, inserts, or accessories;
  • is damaged after delivery;
  • is not returned in its original condition;
  • is returned outside the approved return process.

8. Non-Returnable Items

Certain items may not be eligible for return or refund, including:

  • opened or used products;
  • products damaged after delivery;
  • customized, personalized, or made-to-order products;
  • clearance or final-sale items, if clearly marked;
  • digital products, downloads, or printable files, if offered;
  • items returned more than 30 days after delivery;
  • items that have been altered, copied, reproduced, or tampered with.

9. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at kayla@kaylamakes.com.

Please include:

  • your order number;
  • a description of the issue;
  • photos of the item;
  • photos of the packaging;
  • photos of the shipping label, if applicable.

If we determine that the item was defective, damaged before delivery, or incorrectly fulfilled, we may offer a replacement, refund, store credit, or another appropriate resolution at our discretion.

10. Exchanges

We may offer exchanges when inventory is available. If you would like to exchange an item, please contact us at kayla@kaylamakes.com.

Exchanges are subject to product availability and the same eligibility requirements as returns. If the requested replacement item is unavailable, we may offer a refund or store credit instead.

11. Order Cancellations

You may request to cancel an order before it has shipped by contacting us at kayla@kaylamakes.com.

We cannot guarantee cancellation once an order has entered processing, fulfillment, or shipping.

If your order has already shipped, it must be handled through the standard return process after delivery.

12. Refused, Undeliverable, or Returned Packages

If a package is refused, returned to sender, undeliverable, or returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided at checkout, we may deduct shipping costs, return shipping fees, carrier fees, and other related costs from any refund issued.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information at the time of purchase.

13. Shipping Dates Are Estimates

Shipping dates, delivery windows, and estimated arrival times are estimates only. We do not guarantee delivery by a specific date.

Delays may occur due to carrier delays, weather, holidays, high order volume, incorrect addresses, customs processing, supply issues, or other circumstances outside our control.

Shipping delays alone do not automatically qualify an order for cancellation, refund, or reimbursement once the order has shipped.

14. Lost or Delayed Packages

If your package appears lost or delayed, please contact us at kayla@kaylamakes.com. We will do our best to help you work with the shipping carrier.

Once an order has been transferred to the shipping carrier, delivery timing and handling are generally controlled by the carrier. We are not responsible for carrier delays or packages marked as delivered by the carrier.

15. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

We encourage you to contact us first at kayla@kaylamakes.com before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute.

Most order, shipping, return, or refund issues can be resolved more quickly by contacting us directly.

If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute, you agree that we may provide order records, tracking information, delivery confirmation, customer communications, product details, return history, and other relevant information to Stripe, the card network, the payment provider, or the issuing bank.

Fraudulent disputes, false claims, or abuse of our return policy may result in denial of future orders.

16. Abuse of Return Policy

We reserve the right to deny returns, refunds, exchanges, or future orders if we believe a customer is abusing our return policy, making fraudulent claims, repeatedly returning products in violation of our policy, or attempting to misuse our checkout, shipping, refund, or dispute processes.
